Important Message From Randolph Schools

To Randolph Public School Parents: 

The principals at Randolph Public Schools are sending this message to parents to alert you of our concern about students and their activity on social media sites such as Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook. Their interaction with friends and relatives on social media sites is perfectly reasonable providing you, as parents, approve of it. Unfortunately, young people sometimes interact with strangers on social media which could be very unsafe.

Students may be led to think they are interacting with someone they know but the other person is actually hiding their identity as part of a social media "game." We have also learned of students purposely interacting with total strangers. Any adult attempting to establish anonymous social media contact with a child or adolescent should warrant suspicion. This behavior could put children at risk and has the potential to be very harmful.
Internet safety is a topic we talk about in school, and we encourage you to remind your children about the responsible use of social media as well. We hope this list of resources about social media will be helpful:
