Dakota County hosts Rhythm and Words Family Festival

Dakota County Library is hosting musical guests, author meet-and-greets, workshops and more during Rhythm & Words from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Ames Center (formerly the Burnsville Performing Arts Center), 12600 Nicollet Ave., Burnsville.


The event's musical lineup features The Roe Family Singers, Joanie Leeds and The Nightlights, and Duke Otherwise. Authors Cori Doerrfeld (Little Bunny Foo Foo) and Stephen Shaskan (The Three Triceratops Tuff) will give book presentations. Interact in music classes with Kindermusik of the Valley and the MacPhail Center for Music, make creative craft projects with ArtStart, see a puppet show by Climb Theatre and enjoy storytime with WonderWeavers Storytellers.


Enjoy booths by local arts and cultural organizations, families will find enough variety to keep them entertained for hours, also stop by the Dakota County Library booth to sign up for the Summer Reading Program. There is no cost to attend the event.
