Dakota County Library welcomes local musicians for Silver Teas

Bluegrass, swing and Renaissance songs are just a sample of the music to be enjoyed at Dakota County Library's annual Silver Teas series. A wide variety of musical programs — all free and specially created for adults 55 and older — will be offered in May. At each of the events, staff will be on hand to offer information on Library services and programs designed specifically for older adults. Refreshments will be provided.


Velvet Tones

1:20–2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1

Robert Trail Library, 14395 S. Robert Trail, Rosemount

Hear the vibrant music expression of the Velvet Tones choral group through pop, Broadway, classical, patriotic and inspirational songs.


LeRoy Larson and the Scandinavian Ensemble

Burnhaven Library, 1101 W. County Road 42, Burnsville

Enjoy an eclectic and entertaining mix of music, humor and history from Scandinavia and the early immigrant traditions of the Midwest from this award-winning ensemble.


Finn Hall

Hear Finn Hall, an award-winning group of musicians that preserve the feel and sounds of historic Finnish-American dance halls with music on the mandolin, accordion, violin, nyckelharpa and more.

Swingin' on a Star: The Voice of Van Heusen

Vocalist Vicky Mountain and her swinging band bring back memories with the musical compositions and collaborations of songwriter Jimmy Van Heusen.


Ladyslipper Ensemble

Tap your toes to traditional tunes and heartfelt original acoustic songs from the British Isles, America and beyond with local folk musicians Curtis and Loretta.
