Dakota County closing portion of Highway 13 from June 7 to 10

Trunk Highway 13 in Burnsville will be closed to all traffic starting Friday, June 7 at 10 p.m. until Monday, June 10 at 5 a.m. from Washburn Avenue to the southbound I-35W exit/entrance ramps.

During this time, motorists will be detoured to I-35W and County Road 42. Motorists will be able to cross Highway 13 at County Road 5. A detour map will be available at www.dakotacounty.us, search Highway 13.

The closure is part of the County Road 5 Interchange at Highway 13 project. During this closure, work will be completed on storm sewer and sanitary sewer lines. In case of inclement weather, the closure will occur the following weekend.

The project includes construction of a bridge, ramps, loop, retaining and noise walls, updating public utilities (storm sewer, water main, and sanitary sewer), relocating private utilities, upgrading signal systems, and improvements to frontage roads. These improvements will increase safety and improve traffic flow at this intersection.
