Dakota County Board appoints education expert to Workforce Investment Board

At its meeting May 7, the Dakota County Board of Commissioners appointed Intermediate School District 917 Superintendent John Christiansen to the Dakota-Scott Workforce Investment Board.
Christiansen, who will fill a vacancy on the Board representing educational agencies, has an extensive background in education, experience working with community agencies and interest in community development. During his seven years as superintendent of ISD 917, he has demonstrated strong support of workforce development initiatives.
The Dakota-Scott Workforce Investment Board oversees employment and training programs in Dakota and Scott counties and is a state leader in developing innovative programs administered through WorkForce Centers in Burnsville, Shakopee and West St. Paul.
