METRO Red Line Market and Development Study to be discussed at open house

Dakota County, Hennepin County, Dakota County Community Development Agency and the cities of Bloomington, Eagan, Apple Valley and Lakeville are conducting a study along the METRO Red Line, which will bring station-to-station bus rapid transit service to Cedar Avenue this summer.
The METRO Red Line Market and Development Study, which is funded by the Corridors of Opportunity initiative of the Metropolitan Council, is being used to identify strategies that encourage transit-supportive development and redevelopment around six stations along the route: 181st Street in Lakeville; 155th Street, 147th Street and 140th Street in Apple Valley; the Cedar Grove transit station in Eagan; and the Mall of America transit station in Bloomington.
The public is invited to learn more about the project, hear preliminary study findings and share comments on the future of station areas at an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in the Dakota County Western Service Center atrium, 14955 Galaxie Ave., Apple Valley.
For more information about the project or the open house, contact Dakota County Transit Specialist Joe Morneau at 952-891-7986 or joe.morneau@co.dakota.mn.us.
