Calendar listings from the Pleasant Hill Library for week of September 7, 2012

Used Books for Sale at the Library
The Friends of the Pleasant Hill Library continue to sell used books in the lobby area of the library.  People may buy a bag of books for $2 per bag.  A wide range of books, dvd's and assorted material is still available following the summer book sale.  Books will be sold for several more weeks and is replenished daily. 
                                          
Story time for Babies at the Library
Babies age birth to 2 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, September 17 at 10:45 a.m. for a special baby story time.  Babies will participate in stories, songs, bounces, and playtime activities geared for the age group.  There is no charge, nor any registration requirements for the program. 
                                                                 
Story Time for Toddlers
Toddlers age 2 to 3 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Tuesday, September 18 at 10:30 a.m. for a toddler story time.  Toddlers will  hear stories, rhymes, songs, and activities selected to entertain and develop early literacy skills.  There is no charge, nor any registration requirements for the program. 
 
Story Time for Preschoolers
Preschool children age 4, 5, and 6 are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Wednesday, September 19 at 10:30 a.m. for a preschool story time.  Preschoolers will read books, listen to songs, and participate in creative movement activities during story time.  There will also be a craft activity at the end of story time. There is no charge, nor any registration requirements for the program. 
                                                                                            
Musical Tribute to the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) at the Library Dollar A Day, Boys! 
Relive a bit of United States history at the library during a program presented by author Bill Jamerson.  Jamerson will talk about the CCC and entertain with folk songs from the era.  The program is scheduled for Thursday, September 13 at 6 p.m.  There is no charge for the event, and no registration is required.  For more information, please call the library at 651-438-0200. 
                        
ECFE Preschool Program at the Library

 Children age 3 to 5 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Friday, September 28 at 11 a.m. for a story time and activity morning called "A is for Apple."  Children will have fun with fall-themed stories, songs, and crafts as a part of the Book Adventure Series with ISD 200.  There is no charge for the program, however, registration is required.  Call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library.

Free Resume Writing  Class at the Library

Adults interested in brushing up their resumes are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Friday, September 28 at 2 p.m. for a free workshop titled Resume Rescue.  This class will teach people how to create an effective resume.  Students will learn how to use a resume to show potential employers your value.  Topics covered include formatting, styles, common mistakes, dos and don'ts, and more. Seniors Invited to the Library to Learn about Reforms in Medicare

Area seniors are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, September 17 at 6 p.m., for a question/answer session on the new Medicare Program.  Attendees will learn about the changes to Medicare, reforms in the Affordable Care Act, and how to address the donut hole.  People will get help making personal comparisons using the medicare.gov website and the Health Care Choices book with Senior LinkAge Line.  There is no charge for the event, and registration is not required.
