Farmington KCs Sponsoring Youth Free Throw Championship

All boys and girls ages 10 to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2012 Knights of Columbus free throw championship, hosted by the Farmington Knights of Columbus Council #2400.

 The local competition will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Levi Dodge Middle School, 4200 208th Street West in Farmington, Minn. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m.

 The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is sponsored annually sine 1972, with winners progressing through local, district, and state competitions. International champions are announced by the K of C international headquarters based on scores from the state-level competitions. All boys and girls 10 to 14 years old are eligible to participate and will compete in their respective age divisions.

 All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent. Entry forms will be available at the event. For additional information contact Vince Olson at 651-463-9456. 

 The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic family fraternal service organization with nearly 1.7 million members in more than 13,000 local councils. Last year, Knights donated over 60 million volunteer hours and more than $140 million to charities and benevolent causes, sponsoring projects to benefit their church, councils, communities, families and youth.
