Garden soil improvement class in Red Wing Sept 27

Improve Your Soil – Improve Your Garden

Goodhue County Master Gardeners are proud to co-sponsor another excellent Red Wing Community Education Program on September 27th, 2011, from 7-8 pm at in the Red Wing High School's Courtyard Café.

Dr. Albert "Bud" Markhart, a professor at the University of Minnesota will discuss soil improvement techniques that result in healthier plants, more produce, fewer weeds, less watering and much less work. Professor Markhart currently advises 13 environmental horticulture majors at the U of MN. He pioneered the University's organic horticulture curriculum and inspired students to create Cornercopia, a one-acre plot of certified organic land that raises over 100 varieties of vegetables on the St. Paul campus.
