Join the Pleasant Hill Library Book Group
 
 The Pleasant Hill Library Book Group is currently  looking for new members to attend the monthly discussion group.  The book group meets the first Monday evening  of each month in the Meeting Room at the Hastings Library.  The books the group discusses range from popular fiction to classics.  Books are always available in advance for check out at the Pleasant Hill Library.  The first fall meeting for the group is scheduled for Monday, September 12, on account of the Labor Day Holiday.  All subsequent meetings will be held on the first Monday evening of each month.  The book selection for September is Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, by Jamie Ford.  The selection for October is Left Neglected, by Lisa Genova.  For more information, call the library at 651-438-0200.
 
Friends of the Pleasant Hill Library Host the Summer Used Book Sale August 19 and 20
                                                                                                             
The Friends of the Pleasant Hill Library will host their annual Summer Used Book Sale on Friday, August 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, August 20 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.  The sale will be held in the meeting room of the Pleasant Hill Library, located at 1490 South Frontage Road in Hastings.  Beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, all items will be sold at half price. Many items will be for sale during the event, including gently used books, DVDs, CDs, video and audiocassettes, puzzles and games.  Books include hard covers, as well as paperbacks.  Items for children, teens and adults will be sold at the Summer Used Book Sale.
