Beyond The Yellow Ribbon Events

Beyond the Yellow Ribbon is a comprehensive program that creates awareness for the purpose of connecting Service members and their families with community support, services and resources, while honoring their sacrifices.

Aug 6th, Saturday, 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Hastings Historic Saturday Night Cruise-In. Convertible Night.

Aug 8 – 14th, Dakota County Fair. Come out and Play! Something for everyone, including music entertainment, midway rides, lumberjack shows, grandstand events, livestock shows, historical village, and of course food. Military Day is Wednesday, August 10, 2011. As a Thank You for serving our country – FREE admission and FREE parking for all military and their family with a military ID. Stop by and visit the Dakota County Veterans Service and Yellow Ribbon Network exhibit.

Aug 11th, Thursday, 7 p.m. Yellow Ribbon Steering Working Committee, Nelson Lucking American Legion Post 47, 50 Sibley. Topics will include the upcoming briefing to the Adjutant General, 34th Aviation Brigade and 834th Aviation Support along with the upcoming Hastings Armory Open House and unit picnic. Open to military, veterans, families, citizens, businesses, agencies, organizations, and etc.

Aug 20th. Saturday, 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Hastings Historic Saturday Night Cruise-In, Bob Hollenbeck Night.

Aug 26th, Friday, 8:30 am – 4 pm, Rosemount Community Center and National Guard Armory, Retirement Appreciation Day, hosted by the Twin Cities Area Military Retiree Council. Speak with a Defense Finance representative or legal officer, update DEER records and get issued a new military ID.They’re a great source of the latest information for retirees and Family members. They provide an opportunity to renew acquaintances, listen to guest speakers, renew ID Cards, get medical checkups, and various other services. For additional information, go to

Sep 3rd, Saturday, Saturday, 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Hastings Historic Saturday Night Cruise-In, Rat Rod Night.

Sep 8th, Thursday, 7 p.m., Yellow Ribbon Steering Working Committee meeting, Nelson Lucking American Legion Post 47, 50 Sibley St. Open to military, veterans, families, citizens, businesses, agencies, organizations, and etc.

Sep 9-11th, Tee It Up For The Troops, Hidden Greens, Bellwood Oaks, Emerald Greens and Afton Alps will be hosting Tee it up for the Troops. This will be a day for our brave military soldiers and their families. Soldiers golf FREE! Immediate family member’s green frees are 50% off. Riding carts additional. Tee times and military ID required. All non-military golfers are invited to play golf and make a minimum $1 donation for each green fee to help us acknowledge and honor the sacrifices of all military veterans and their families.
