New programs available at iLAB

Learn a new skill or perfect your talents in newly added programs at the iLAB in the Wescott Library. The programs, open Jan. 4-May 25, include state-of-the-art equipment for crafts, video, sound, 3D printing and more.

In the iLAB Media Suite, learn how to set up microphones in the sound booth and get an introduction to recording and editing audio tracks in GarageBand® for Mac. Also, learn the basics of recording a video using a green screen, importing the video into iMovie® for Mac, editing the video, and saving and sharing your work.

Craft nearly any project imaginable in the iLab Creative Suite. Discover ways to create your own 3D designs using CAD tools, 3D printers, and a 3D scanner. Get an introduction to using the Silhouette Cameo® paper cutter and Silhouette Studio software to import, resize and cut images. Become familiar with the Janome Schoolmate® sewing machine and the Accuquilt GO! Big® electric fabric cutter. Learn sewing machine basics to work on your own future projects, and practice cutting fabric using die-cutter shapes. Lastly, master how to convert your old photos, slides, negatives and film to digital formats.

Registration is required for all classes. For more information or to register, please visit www.dakotacounty.us/library or call 651-450-2900.
