Pleasant Hill Library improvement project

Dakota County is beginning the process of renovating Pleasant Hill Library in Hastings.

The library opened in 1994 and has yet to be renovated. The first step is to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment to collect information about the current facility and identify improvements. The study will result in a space plan, schematic design for improvements, and an estimated budget.

This information will then be presented to the Dakota County Board of Commissioners for consideration as a future Capital Improvement Program project. The county plans improvements through the program, a five-year plan identifying building, transportation, parks and other improvements.  Once the needs assessment is complete and the project has been funded, design and construction will take between one and two years, depending on the scope of the project

A survey for residents to offer input on potential improvements is available online through Oct. 16. To take the survey and for more information about the project, visit www.co.dakota.mn.us/libraries and search Pleasant Hill improvement project.

Project information is also available at the Pleasant Hill Library.

Comments or questions can be submitted to Joe Lexa, senior project manager, by email at joe.lexa@co.dakota.mn.us. Comments will become part of the official record and will be considered when making future project-related decisions.
