17 Vermillion Students Compete in Regional Science Fair

Recently, 17 students ranging from 3rd to 6th grade competed in the 65th annual Southern Minnesota Regional Science & Engineering Fair, held at Minnesota State University-Mankato. The projects covered science and engineering categories from earth & planetary science to family & consumer science.

St. John students enjoyed great success against the 842 competing students. Some highlights:

 3rd Grader, Clara Wilson won a gold medal and Young Scientist Award for the top project among all 3rd graders.
• 4th Grader Chloe Hanson won the Mankato Area Pharmaceutical special award
• Six students won gold medals for top projects in their categories
• A number of students brought home additional distinctions
