The write stuff

Join us at Dakota County Library's Local Author Fair from 1–4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Dakota County Western Service Center Atrium, 14955 Galaxie Ave., Apple Valley, to speak with local authors, buy their books, network with each other and learn about the writing and publishing business.
 
Hear keynote speaker, Benjamin Percy, Minnesota author of The Dead Lands, Red Moon and The Wilding, and short stories Refresh, Refresh and The Language of Elk. Common Good Books will sell  Percy's work, and the author will be available for signing his books.
 
The Loft Literary Center will present free writing workshops from 2–4 p.m. Learn about making a creative writing sampler from presenter Brian Malloy or discover the style needed to write for newspapers and magazines by presenter Gail Rosenblum.
 
Book sales by local authors and prize drawings will be held throughout the day. All ages are welcome to attend. The Local Author Fair is funded with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
