Upcoming Events at Dakota County Pleasant Hill Library

Movies for Children at the Library
Children age 2 to 6 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Wednesday, April 29 at 10:30 a.m. for a special showing of favorite kids' movies.   We will be showing the following moooovies: Click Clack Moo, Cows That Type, The Cow Who Clucked, Dooby Dooby Moo, and Farm.  The program is free and no registration is required.  

Camp Caldecott at the Library
Children age 3 to 6 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Thursday, April 30 at 10:30 a.m. for a morning program called Camp Caldecott: Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus.  Children will act out the book with cast members from SteppingStone Theater.  They will learn all about the character called Pigeon, created by children's author Mo Willems.  The program will feature art, music, and creative play.  The event is free, but registration is required.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library.  Registration opens April 16th. 

 Baby Storytime at the Library
Children age birth to 2 years old, along with their caregivers,  are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, May 4, at 10:45 a.m. for a baby story time.  Children will sing songs, hear stories, and enjoy playtime activities.  The event is free and no registration is required.

Children Learn to Draw Frogs at the Library
Children age 6 to 12 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, May 4 at 4 p.m. for an afternoon of fun with frogs.  Children will listen to a story about frogs and learn to draw one.  This program is presented by Abrakodoodle.  The program is free, but registration is required.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website atwww.DakotaCounty.us/library.  Registration opens April 20th
 
Storytime for All Ages at the Library
Children age birth to 6 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Wednesday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. for a story time session.  The event will feature stories, songs, and crafts.  This program is ideal for mixed-ages audiences such as childcare groups and families.  The event is free, and no registration is required. 

Train Program for Kids at the Library
Children age 3 to 5 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Friday, May 8 at 11 a.m. for a program involving trains.  Children will hear stories, sing songs, play games, and make crafts that are all about trains.  This program is sponsored in part by ECFE.  The program is free, but registration is required.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website atwww.DakotaCounty.us/library.  Registration opens April 24th. 

Pleasant Hill Library Hosts Silver Tea
Featuring Fiddler Pop Wagner and Cowboy Singer John Hurt
Area adults are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Wednesday, May 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. for the annual Silver Tea.  Guests will tap their toes to a variety of traditional music from Pop Wagner, a curator of fine fiddle music who has also been featured  on "A Prairie Home Companion."  Also appearing at the event will be John Hurt, a style guitarist, cowboy singer and lasso twirler.  Light refreshments will be served.  The event is free, and no registration is required.  

Teens Make Wearable Washer Jewelry at the Library
Teens age 10-16 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Thursday, May 14 between 3 and 5 p.m. for a Make and Take session featuring wearable washers.  Kids may drop in anytime in the afternoon to create funky jewelry from washers to wear yourself or to give as gifts.  The program is free, and no registration is required.
