Dakota County sponsoring conference on mental illness, dementia in older adults

Providers, professionals, government leaders and community members are invited to participate in a summit to discuss mental illness and dementia in older adults. "Living Longer: The Power and Possibilities of the Aging Mind" will be held May 14 from 8 a.m.–noon at the Rosemount Community Center, 13885 S. Robert Trail, Rosemount.
 
Speakers Kay King of NAMI MN and Marsha Berry of the Alzheimer's Association will discuss risk factors, warning signs and treatment of mental illnesses and dementia in older adults. The speakers will also discuss strategies for those taking care of someone living with the disorders and offer resources to help.
 
The summit is sponsored by the Dakota County Healthy Communities Collaborative, Park Nicollet Foundation and Dakota County Communities for a Lifetime Initiative.
