Dakota County hosting public open house about River to River Greenway

To gather input from the public and help shape the future of the River to River Greenway, Dakota County is hosting an open house from 5–7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Dakota Lodge in Thompson County Park, 360 Butler Ave. E., West St. Paul.

The open house is part of a six-month master planning process. It will allow the public to provide input on alignment alternatives, design character, trailheads, habitat restoration, interpretive themes and more. There is no set program, and people are invited to stop by at any time during the open house to provide feedback to the planning team.

The River to River Greenway Master Plan will recommend enhancements and improvements to trail amenities, corridor landscaping and connections that will bring the trail up to regional greenway standards outlined in the Dakota County 2010 Greenway Guidebook.

River to River Greenway, previously known as the North Urban Regional Trail, connects the Minnesota and Mississippi rivers across Lilydale, Mendota Heights, West St. Paul and South St. Paul. It is part of a 200-mile greenway network planned throughout the entire county.
