News from the Pleasant Hill Library

Baby Story Time at the Library

Babies age birth to two years old, along with their caregivers, are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, September 22 at 10:45 a.m.  Babies will enjoy stories, songs, bounces and playtime, making this story time perfect for young babies.  There is no charge for story time, and no registration is needed. 


Morning Story Time for all ages at the Library

Children of all ages and their families/caregivers are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Wednesday, September 24 at 10:30 a.m. for story time.  These stories and activities are ideal for mixed ages audiences.  There is no charge for story time, and no registration is needed.


Preschool Program at the Library

Children age 3 to 5 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Friday, September 26 at 11 a.m. for a special program called, "O is for Ocean".  Children will experience under the sea stories, songs, crafts and games especially for preschoolers.  This event is sponsored in part by ECFE.  There is no charge for the event, but registration is required.  Registration begins September 12.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library.  


Create an Autumn Tree Collage at the Library

Children age 5 to 14 are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Tuesday, September 30th from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. to create a cool autumn collage using colored and tissue papers and chalk pastels.  This event is presented by Abrakadoodle.  There is no charge for the event, but registration is required.  Registration begins September 16.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library.  

 

Learn about Dakota County in the 1800s at the Library

Area residents are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, September 29 at 6:30 p.m. to hear a presentation about life in Dakota County in the 1800's.  Corrine L. Monjeau-Marz, author of The Dakota Indian Internment at Fort Snelling, 1862-1864, will talk about the people who claimed the vast Dakota territory, including the current Dakota County boundaries, before European settlement.  This event is presented by the Dakota County Historical Society.  There is no charge for the presentation, and no registration is needed.

 

Raptor Presentation at the Library

Area residents are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Saturday, October 4th at 1 p.m. to learn about Minnesota's raptors, including the majestic bald eagle in this presentation from the Raptor Center.  Before or after, go on a Story Walk and read Minnesota's Hidden Alphabet by Joe Rossi and David LaRochelle.  This is a Raise a Reader event.


Celebrate Star Wars Reads Day at the Library

Families and Individuals are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 11 to enjoy a fun-filled Star Wars Reads Day.  People are invited to come in costume and enjoy storytelling, games, and crafts.  People may also meet costumed volunteers from the 501st Legion.  There is no charge for the event, and no registration is required.
