Events at the Pleasant Hill Library

Learn How to Use Google Docs at the Library

     Area adults are invited to a free computer class at the Pleasant Hill Library on Thursday, September 11 at 6 p.m.  Students will learn how to create, manipulate, manage and collaborate using Google Docs suite — Google's version of documents, spreadsheets, forms, presentations and drawings. This class is designed for job seekers, businesses and organizations looking for easy ways to collaborate digitally. Students should have basic Internet knowledge. This class is presented by Twin Cities Media Alliance.  There is no charge for the class, but registration is required.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200.

Learn to Create an effective resume at the Library

     Area residents are invited to a free class at the Pleasant Hill Library, called How to Create an Effective Resume.  The class will be offered on Friday, September 12 at 2 p.m.  Creating an effective résumé is more important than ever during tough economic times. Learn how to use a résumé to show a potential employer your value. Topics covered include formatting, styles, common mistakes, dos and don'ts, and more. This class is taught by Dakota County WorkForce Center staff. There is no charge for the class, but registration is required.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200


Library Looking for Teens with Ideas

     On Monday September 8,  from 3:30 to 4:30, the Pleasant Hill Teen Advisory Group will be meeting. Anyone between the ages of 12 and 18 is welcome to come check the group out. It is an opportunity for teens to volunteer at the library and give advice to the library on the teen area and teen purchases.

Baby Story Time at the Library

     Babies age 0 -2 years old, along with their caregivers, are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, September 8 at 10:45 a.m. for a baby story time.  The morning will be filled with stories, songs, bounces and playtime.  There is no registration for the free event.
