Events at the Pleasant Hill Library

Children's Craft Fair at the Library

          Kids age 4 to 16 years will be selling their handmade crafts to the general public at the Pleasant Hill Library on Tuesday, July 29 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  All crafts are priced at $2 or less per item.  For more information about the craft fair, call the library at 651-438-0200.

 

Learn about Folk Music at the Library

     Area families are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Thursday, July 24 at 10:30 a.m. for a fun-filled musical experience with Ten Penny Tunes.  The group will demonstrate some of the instruments used in folk music around the world, including;  the penny whistle, accordion, saxophone and clarinet.  The program will also feature traditional songs and music.   There is no charge for the event, and no registration is required. 

 

Paperbacks and Popcorn at the Library

     Teens age 11 to 14 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library  on Thursday, July 24 at 2 p.m. to participate in an informal  book discussion group.  Teens will have the chance to talk to other teens about the books they are reading  and learn about the great books others are reading.  There is no charge for the event, and no registration is required. 

 

Adults Learn Japanese Paper Art at the Library

     Area adults are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, July 28 at 6 p.m. for a unique class outlining Japanese paper art making techniques.  The class will learn three simple Japanese paper art techniques to create greeting cards and bookmarks.  This class is presented by the Minnesota center for Book Arts.  All materials will be provided at the library.  There is no charge for the event, however, registration is required.    To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library

 

The Story Man from England Returns to the Pleasant Hill Library

     Children age 2-8  are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Tuesday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m. to listen to favorite story teller, The Story Man for England.  Children will explore the fantasy and reality, fiction and non-fiction of dinosaurs through interactive poetry, props, and puppets.  This program is called Dinosaurs Galore.  There is no charge for the event, and no registration is required.
