Events at the Pleasant Hill Library

Adults Learn about Yoga and Art at the Library

     Area adults are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Tuesday, June 17 at 6 p.m. for a special class combining Yoga with Art.  Participants will work with artist Robin Getsug to explore creativity through yoga and art.  They will establish a sense of tranquility through yoga and use a variety of materials to create a journal to reflect each day through writing or drawing.  This class is presented by Artstart.  There is no charge for the event, but registration is required.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library


Children Create Duct Tape Art at the Library

     Children age 10 to 16 are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Thursday, June 19 at 2 p.m. to make a project using duct tape.  The program is called "Art Goes Quackers."  Children will design a pouch, a wallet, a wrist cuff, ring or bracelet using a variety of colors of duct tape.  This class is presented by ArtStart.  There is no charge for the event, but registration is required.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library


Kids Invited to Read to a Dog at the Library

     Children age 5-10 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Friday, June 20 at 11 a.m. to read to Kippy, the Dachshund.  Kippy is a certified therapy dogs.  Parents are encouraged to bring their kids to this program, called Waggin Tales,  not only because it is fun, but because it helps develop reading skills and fluency.  Children may bring a book from home, or choose one from the library collection.


Children Invited to Register for Craft Fair at the Library

          Children age 4 to 16 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library to register to be a part of this summer's Pleasant Hill Library Craft Fair.  The craft fair will be held Tuesday, July 29 from 11 a.m to 12:30 p.m.  All crafts must be hand made and not priced at more than $2 per item.  For more information about the craft fair, call the library at 651-438-0200.


Play with Legos and Duplos at the Library

     Children age 2 -12 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, June 23, anytime between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to play with an assortment of Legos and Duplos.  These blocks get imaginations working by exploring the many things kids can create with the materials.  There is no charge for the event, and no registration is required. 


Kids Create Rubber Band Bracelets at the Library

     Kids age 7-14 are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, June 23 at 2 p.m. to learn the popular craft of rubber band bracelet making.  Kids will learn how to create bracelets without using a loom.  This class is taught by an artist from Abrakadoodle.  There is no charge for the event, but registration is required.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library


Area Adults Invited to the Library to Make Coffee Cozies

     Area adults are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, June 23 at 6 p.m. for a special class in making coffee cozies.  Adults will make a cup cozy for your favorite beverage using crazy quilt techniques, applique, embroidery and beading for a personalized and eco-friendly project.  This class is presented by the Textile Center.  .  There is no charge for the event, but registration is required.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library
