More locations available for free medicine disposal

More locations available for free medicine disposal

Proper disposal of expired or unwanted prescription drugs and over-the-counter medication helps prevent crime, accidental poisoning and drug abuse, all while protecting the environment.

Police stations and law enforcement centers have added more secured drop boxes throughout Dakota County for residents to drop off their expired and unwanted medicines for free.

Medicines from households are accepted in any form, including prescription, over-the-counter and pet medicines. For more information on medicine disposal or for the nearest medicine drop-off location, contact the Dakota County Sheriff's Office at 651-438-4710 or visit www.dakotacounty.us and search medicine disposal.

Partially funded by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the Dakota County Board of Commissioners.
