MINNESOTA AND NEIGHBORING STATES ANNOUNCE BUDGET SURPLUSES

It was announced today that Minnesota is projected to have a $1.213 billion dollar surplus.  (It was $1.233, but $20 million was spent already.)  Our surplus is consistent with a pattern of improving budget situations across the nation.  The good news is there is agreement within both political parties to repeal some of the destructive tax increases that were passed last legislative session.  I voted in favor of a repeal of those tax increases in the tax committee yesterday.

Here is an informative article about how the nation's economy continues to improve and this is helping out state budgets nationwide.

BIG CHANGES COMING TO 195TH STREET BETWEEN FLAGSTAFF AND DIAMOND PATH

An open house is going to be held Thursday, March 6th from 4pm to 7pm at the Farmington Maintenance Facility.  If you live in North Farmington, this project is going to have a significant impact on where vehicle traffic goes and pedestrians can walk.  I would encourage you to attend this workshop.

OINK OINK - PIGGY SPENDING THAT WON'T GO AWAY

I was hopeful that House Democrats might change their mind and defeat the new $90 million dollar palace for the Minnesota Senate.  Instead it looks like people are trying to find a way to make the building bigger.  This is a reckless use of tax dollars.  State Senators are supposed to be PART-TIME.  They don't need a new office building.  Here is an article about the latest developments.
