Events at the Pleasant Hill Library

Twin Cities Author Jan Dunlap Visits the Pleasant Hill Library
      Local author Jan Dunlap will speak at the Pleasant Hill Library on Saturday, April 13 at 11 a.m. Dunlap will talk about her writing process and the creation of the Bob White Birder Murder Mystery Series.  This event is part of the Minnesota Mosaic program.  There is no charge for the event, and no registration is required.  For more information, call the library at 651-438-0200. 

Learn the Art and Science of Mushroom Hunting at the Library
     Area residents are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, April 15th, to learn about hunting for morel mushrooms.  The event will begin at 6 p.m.   Participants will learn how to locate morel  mushrooms and distinguish them from other varieties of mushrooms that grow in the area.  Ron Spinosa of the Minnesota Mycological Society will facilitate the discussion.    This event is part of the Minnesota Mosaic program.  There is no charge for the event, and no registration is required.  For more information, call the library at 651-438-0200. 

Learn to Draw Super Heroes at the Library
     Children age 6 to 12 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, April 22 at 3:30 p.m. for a course explaining how to draw Super Heroes.  This class will be taught by the staff of Abrakadoodle.  Children will learn how to draw their favorite Super Hero, using a step-by-step method with basic shapes at drawing techniques.  There is no charge for the event, however, registration is required.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library

Enjoy a Movie at the Library
     Children age 2 to 6 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Wednesday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m. for a fun-filled morning of movie watching.  Children will enjoy a selection of children's books in movie format, including; I'm Dirty, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, and The Wheels on the Bus.  There is no charge for this event, and no registration is required.  For more information regarding movie morning, call the library at 651-438-0200.

Learn the Tricks of Hair Styling at the Library
     Girls age 10 and older are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, April 29th at 4 p.m. for a program called, "All Tressed Up."  Girls will work with a professional beautician to learn tricks using a curling iron, a flat iron, and other hairstyling techniques.  Girls should bring their own styling tools to the program.  There is no charge for the program, however, due to space limitations, registration is required.    To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library.
