Dakota County Library hosting eight authors this spring

Dakota County Library will host eight authors for discussions and workshops in March and April. The following authors are planning visits to various Library locations:
 
Atina Diffley
Minnesota organic farmer and author Atina Diffley will share Turn Here, Sweet Corn: Organic Farming Works, a memoir, love story and legal thriller, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Robert Trail Library, 14395 S. Robert Trail, Rosemount.
 
Cheryl Strayed
As part of a Club Book presentation, New York Times bestselling author Cheryl Strayed will discussTiny Beautiful Things and Wild—an Oprah Book Club selection—from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Galaxie Library, 14955 Galaxie Ave., Apple Valley.
 
Kate Ledger
Kate Ledger, the author of Remedies, will present a workshop titled Novel Writing for Beginners from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Wescott Library, 1340 Wescott Road, Eagan. Participants will learn strategies to help them work through writer's block, complete a draft, find an agent and get their book published.
 
Jamie Ford
New York Times bestselling author Jamie Ford will share Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet—this year's selection for the OneBook, OneLakeville community read—from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, 20965 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville. Tickets are required for the free event and are available at the Heritage Library, 20085 Heritage Drive, Lakeville, or from the Friends of the Heritage Library at www.heritagelibraryfriends.com.
 
Jan Dunlap
Local author Jan Dunlap will talk about her writing process and the creation of the Bob White Birder Murder series from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 13, at Pleasant Hill Library, 1490 S. Frontage Road, Hastings.
 
Jim Trevis
In an event sponsored by the Rosemount Area Arts Council, local author Jim Trevis will discuss his first novel, Mile of Dreams, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Steeple Center, 14375 S. Robert Trail, Rosemount.
 
Rebecca Yaker and Trish Hoskins
One Yard Wonders authors Rebecca Yaker and Trish Hoskins will tell the story of how they created and published their book, and share projects that will inspire others to create their own "one yard wonder," from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at Wescott Library, 1340 Wescott Road, Eagan.
