MARCH CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR PLEASANT HILL LIBRARY

MARCH 4:   STORYTIME FOR BABIES. 10:45-11:30 AM. Newborn-2 yr. Stories, songs, bounces, and playtime, make this time perfect for babies and their caregivers. Meeting Room.

MARCH 4:  PLEASANT HILL LIBRARY BOOK GROUP. 6:30-7:30 PM. This month's book is Rescue by Anita Shreve. Meeting Room.

MARCH 5:  SEARCH AND RESCUE DOG DEMONSTRATION. 6:00 PM-7:00 PM. All ages. Watch a live demonstration of a search and rescue dog. There will be a presentation about what the Minnesota Search and Rescue Dog Association does. Meeting Room.  Hastings Reads Event.

MARCH 6:  STORYTIME FOR ALL AGES. 10:30-11:00 AM. 0-6 yr. Stories and activities ideal for mixed-age audiences such as childcare groups and families. Meeting Room.

MARCH 7:  LE DUC BOOK GROUP. 6:30-7:30 PM. A book group for local history lovers. Meets at the LeDuc Historic Mansion @ 1629 Vermillion St. This month's book is Unfamiliar Fishes by Sarah Vowell.

MARCH 8:  INTERVIEWING SKILLS. 2:00 PM-3:30 PM. Adults. Learn how to be more confident along with strategies to make you stand out from the crowd. Topics covered include types of interviews, common interview questions, and major blunders to avoid. Taught by Dakota County WorkForce Center staff. Meeting Room. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED—BEGINS TWO WEEKS BEFORE CLASS.

MARCH 11: REDWING POTTERY. 6:00 PM-7:00 PM. Adults. Join third generation owner of Red Wing Pottery, Scott Gillmer, as he delves into the history of pottery and the family business. Meeting Room. Minnesota Mosaic Series Event.

MARCH 12:  LEGOS AND DUPLOS AT THE LIBRARY. 10:30 AM-11:30 AM. 2-12 yr. Let those imaginations work by exploring the many things that can be created with Legos and Duplos. Meeting Room.

MARCH 13:  STORYTIME FOR ALL AGES. 10:30-11:00 AM. 0-6 yr. Stories and activities ideal for mixed-age audiences such as childcare groups and families. Meeting Room.

MARCH 14:  PIRATES AHOY! With the Story Man from England. 10:30 AM-11:15 AM. All ages. Come aboard for swashbuckling stories that encourage children to take on fun roles and to find storybook treasure. Meeting Room. Minnesota Legacy program.

MARCH 15: BOOK BINGO. 10:30 AM-11:30 AM. 5-12 yr. Play bingo for gently-used books and other small prizes. Meeting Room.

MARCH 16:  STARTING YOUR GARDEN OFF RIGHT. 11:00 AM-12:00 PM. Adults. Begin planning your garden now before spring officially starts with Master Gardener, Dean Davis. Meeting Room.  Minnesota Mosaic Series Event.

MARCH 18:  HISTORY PLAYERS PRESENT VIRGINIA MAE HOPE. 1:00 PM-2:00 PM. Adults. Through a live performance, learn about a female Air Force Pilot during World War II, her experiences with the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and the changing roles of women during the war. Meeting Room. Minnesota Legacy Program.

MARCH 20:  STORYTIME FOR ALL AGES. 10:30-11:00 AM. 0-6 yr. Stories and activities ideal for mixed-age audiences such as childcare groups and families. Meeting Room.

MARCH 21:  CUT, COPY, PASTE. 10:15 AM-12:15 PM. Adults. During this class you'll practice moving text by using Copy/Paste, Cut/Paste and dragging text. The class will use the Internet and Microsoft® Word. Prerequisite: Basic Internet knowledge. Meeting Room. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED—BEGINS TWO WEEKS BEFORE CLASS.

MARCH 25:  RAINBOW FISH COLLAGE WITH ABRAKADOODLE. 3:30 PM-4:30 PM. 3-8 yr.  Hear a fun rainbow fish story and then create your own fish, using colorful papers, scissors, glue, google eyes and sparkly scales. Meeting Room. Minnesota Legacy Program. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED—BEGINS TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE.

MARCH 27:  MOVIES FOR KIDS. 10:30 AM-11:15 AM. 2-6 yr. Enjoy fun children's books in movie format. Meeting Room.
