Events and Programs at the Library

Waggin' Tales--Read to a Dog at the Library

     Children age 5 to 10 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Saturday, November 24 to read to Kippy, the Dachshund.  Kippy is a Certified Therapy dog and helps kids learn to read and improve their literacy skills by listening to kids read their favorite stories.  Reading sessions last about 10 to 15 minutes.  Children may bring their own favorite book from home, or choose one at the library.  There is no charge for the program, and no registration is required. 

Explore the Magic of Music at the Library

     Children age 0 to 5 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Tuesday, November 27 at 10:30 a.m. for a morning filled with music exploration.  Children will discover the magic of music and play through hands-on activities with MacPhail Center for Music's early childhood music specialists.  They will experience music's impact on learning and reading readiness.  There is no charge for the program, however, registration is required.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library.  This is a Minnesota Legacy Program.

Fun With Letters at the Library

     Kids age 2 to 5 years old and their grown-ups are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Wednesday, November 28 at 10:30 a.m. for a fun and educational morning learning letters.  Parents will discover specific activities on how the five early literacy practices can help kids learn letter names and sounds. This is an Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library early literacy workshop, co-sponsored by ISD 200 ECFE.    There is no charge for the program, however, registration is required.  To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty.us/library.
