Greg's Meats

Because I write Bill's Bits a week or two in advance, you may get this in December or in January.  Either way, my comments are aimed at the so-called Black Friday events that occurred on the Friday after Thanksgiving.  The press-hype and sales offerings were stuffed in with your daily or weekly newspaper.  It almost took two trips
to your papers box and/or also to the mail box.  The poor paper boys or girls probably will never walk erect again..

The term Black Friday comes from the economic stand point that the business places  will operate in the "black" from this day forward untill the fiscal year comes to an end. My thought on this is from the customers "corner of the world."  I don't see a "Black Friday" for us buyers.  I do see a lot of buyers operating in the "Red" and are willing to march into the stores at 3:00 A.M

Personally, I don't get involved in the "early hour" shopping.  In fact, I'm not much of a shopper either.  When "push comes to shove," I do break down and try to come up with something that a family member will like. The trouble I run into is the fact that I have 2 Sons, a daughter and 4 granddaughters that I haven't a clue what to get them.  The easy way out, is to give them "Gift Certificates."  I think that really takes away from giving a present that is wrapped in pretty paper with a bow and is so much fun to guess what's in the present.

When it's all said and done the whole Christmas Present event boils down to the fact that you care enough about a person
to give them a present, whether it be a relative or friend. It is always noted that it is far better to give than to receive.  AMEN!
