Textbooks to Travel from Vermillion to Africa

St. John the Baptist Catholic School's fifth grade students in Vermillion, along with teacher Mrs. Krell, load a car full of retired textbooks bound for Africa.  Each school year, the 5th grade class gathers books from a wide range of course subjects for donation to students across the African continent. The program, Books for Africa, with a warehouse location in St. Paul, works to end the book famine in Africa.  The organization is the largest shipper of donated books to Africa. Since 1988, Books for Africa has shipped over 24 million text and library books to children and adults in 46 African countries.
