Comedy Magician Performs at the Library August 2
Children of all ages are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, August 2, at 10:30 a.m. to see a special performance from comedy magician Star Michaelina. Star Michaelina excites kids about reading, motivates them to use their library and inspires them to reach for their dreams with books, music and magic. This event is free, although an admission ticket is required due to limited seating space. Tickets will be given away first thing in the morning when the library opens at 10 a.m. For more information, call the library at 651-438-0200.

Events at the Pleasant Hill Library for Teens in August
The teen summer reading program, Make Waves at your Library, continues. All teens between 12 and 17 are welcome to come and register for the program. There are no requirements for reading or homework, just plenty of incentives to keep you reading over the summer and coming to the library. Just for signing up you receive prizes and then all summer you can submit weekly book reviews and you could win more prizes for that! Don’t forget to turn in your permission slip for coming to the lock-in on Friday August13th, at the Galaxy Library in Apple Valley.
• On Mondays, August 2 and 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Leonardo’s Basement will be teaching teens how to make t-shirts in our T-Wreck program. No supplies needed, just bring your creativity and leave with a brand new, really cool and original t-shirt. Space is limited so registration is required. This is a Minnesota Legacy Program. Teens may register online at the library calendar or call 651-438-0200.
• On Tuesday, August 3, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., The Eagan Art House will be teaching teens to make handmade books. Each teen will leave with their very own creation to use as a unique diary or special gift to share. This is also a Minnesota Legacy Program. Space is limited so registration is required.
• On Saturday, August 7 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., we will be watching a popular film at the library, and there will be plenty of singing and dancing along. The library will provide the snacks. Stop by the library to find out what the film is. This film is appropriate for all teens and is part of the programming of the Minnesota Legacy Program.
• On Tuesday August 10, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., we will be rocking out to Wii Rock Band at the library. All teens are welcome and there will be snacks provided. Come be “cool” at the library!

Please call the library for more information on any of these programs or to register, and we look forward to seeing you “make waves” at the library! 651-438-0200, Pleasant Hill Library, 1490 S. Frontage Road, Hastings.
