Molly Rhoads - NASCAR Craftsman Mechanic of the Year

NASCAR driver, Molly Rhoads, was awarded the NASCAR Craftsman Mechanic of the Year award at the 2009 banquet held on January 31, 2010. Rhoads found herself under the hood of the car instead of behind the wheel during the 2009 season and was the car chief for Super Late Model driver Bryan Roach. Rhoads used her knowledge of both the cars and track in helping Roach finish 3rd in season points at Raceway Park in Shakopee, Minnesota. Together, they collected 3 fast times, 2 heat wins, 3 feature wins and had a total of 14 top 5’s, 3 top 10’s and 1 top 15 in a total of 18 starts. Fellow drivers and crewmembers honored Rhoads with this prestigious award. Rhoads was grateful to receive this award and thanked all who voted “I am truly honored to receive this award, even though I wasn’t behind the wheel this year, I looked forward to coming to the track every week, and that is because of all of you. Thank you very much.” Rhoads will be competing for the track championship at Raceway Park and will also be competing in select races for the ASA Midwest Tour.
